Pleased so far

I've only lived at the Executive House for 2 months, but so far so good.

The good:
Easy access to the train - I go to school in center city and take the train every day. It takes me about 4 minutes to get from my door to the train station, and about 15 min to get downtown. It's really nice to be able to come back to a quiet, safe, suburban apartment after a long day downtown.

The Staff- everyone I have met so far has been extremely helpful. Starting a move in, I felt like the staff made an effort to get to know me and help me out. My roommate had only been here a month and they already knew her name when she entered the building. I always get a kind greeting every time I leave in the morning and arrive in the evening.

Parking- The apartments come with 1 parking space which is great if you can't go somewhere on public transportation. It sure beats trying to find parking on the street every day.

Carts - There are shopping carts/bins/luggage carriers in the garage to help you bring things up to your apartment. This was VERY helpful for move in, and I've utilized it quite a bit when I go grocery shopping.

Other: In contrast to what I've read, all of our utilities seem new and are functioning. It's great to have a washer/dryer in the apartment, the washing machine works, oven seems new, new fridge, new carpets, clean walls...overall, very clean and cozy. Also, maintenance is very good a responding to complaints/calls. For example, I asked if we could get new AC filters, and the guy came within 2 days of my phone call.

The not so good:
-I've had trouble with my windows, but not enough to stress out about. They just get jammed sometimes. Though, as soon as I went down to get maintenance help, the guy came right back upstairs with me to help out
- Make sure to get Verizon Avenue, not just plain old Verizon. They don't emphasis that when you first move in, and regular Verizon will NOT work. We pay about $22 a month for the highest speed internet through verizon avenue.
- The fire alarms seem to go off a lot. I've been here 2 months, and they have gone off about 3 times

I hope that helps!
