I now understand how once elegant buildings fall into ruin and disrepair -- greedy, insensitive and unresponsive landlords who siphon the money and never put anything back in the building. No extermination, no routine maintenance, no capital improvements, no security, no cleaning crew, no on-site management, poor-quality replacements, no landscaping, no policy on curbing your dogs, no background or credit checks on tenants. As a result, you get a building that is increasingly becoming off-campus housing for undergraduate college students who trash the building or people who would be turned down at better places. Whether you move here or not, live here or not, stay here or not, depends on what you are accustomed and will or will not accept. If you can live with the roaches and mice and doggie-do and overflowing dumpsters in the parking lot, lack of parking, unscheduled and unannounced entries into your apartment, SLOW responses to maintenance and beer parties, then this may be the place for you. But it ain't cheap, so bring along 3 or 4 roommates in the 2-bedroom apartment, like the other tenants and don't forget your Rottweiler and Doberman, like the other tenants.
