(Such a shame, it's) A House of Cards

Take a look at the Fairmount Terrace Apartments: Gorgeous location, reasonably sized building, right near the park, easy to get on Rt.76, City Ave at your doorstep... Now take a closer look: are the grounds maintained' Is the "security" gate wide open when you arrive' Has the garbage been picked up from the dumpsters' Can you walk into the building without buzzing' Was the manager there to meet you' Now take a closer look: the lobby, halls, courtyard landscaping, elevators, and, once in a potential apartment, at the carpet, walls, and balcony. Walk around the floor and see if you can find your way out without using the elevator! It is such a shame, this is a building that must have been a great place to live some time ago, but now shows clear signs of age and poor maintenance. I gave it a try for one year. Having lived in numerous apartments, I can honestly say that this was the best value for the size, but worst managed place I have ever rented. Do yourself a favor and talk to a few random tennants - without the manager hovering around. And remember the old addage: if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Let the renter beware...
