I lived at Fairmount Terrace for almost seven years. I enjoyed my apartment tremendously, despite the horrendous attitude of the management. As long as you pay your rent on time and report your maintenance issues timely and stay on top of them, it is a peaceful place to live, very convenient location. Parking was horrible, parking gate almost never worked, snow removal was non-existent, and only in the last year and a half of my living there did I begin to experience the roach and mice problem. The washer and dryers were usually broken, the pool was rarely opened, and when it was it needed cleaning. But the tenants were nice -- mostly young professionals, graduate students and elderly people who had lived there for a while. It wasn't until the last year that I lived there that I started to see undergraduate students living 4 or 5 to an apartment and smelling the cigarette smoke and the marijuana. Very rarely was there loud music, at least on my side of the building it was quiet. The maintenance staff was phenomenal! Love Awbrey -- he's a good man. Spacious, lots of light with a nice big terrace. I'd recommend the place to someone who wanted a lot of space and on a budget. Management needs to invest money back into the property to attract better tenants. The dog issue -- people need to curb their dogs -- management needs to enforce it or not allow dogs, especially those that are unfriendly to people (saw pit bulls, rottweilers towards the end of my tenancy. What was that about in an apartment') Children were well behaved and not in the courtyard late at night during the week, so it was quiet. My apartment faced the courtyard, so I was very aware of the noise coming from the courtyard. I have mixed feelings, but all in all my tenancy was a pleasant one.
