Not worth the trouble

FT is not worth the trouble or money. It's cheap, which is great, but the rodent problem alone is enough to make you not want to live here. I have had at least 5 mice since I moved in a year ago, and the management claims to have come in here with an exterminator. I didn't do anything to help. I still find droppings in my kitchen daily. The management is horrible and the maintenance is mediocore. Nothing happens very quickly and you are often given the run around on everything from much higher than normal utility bills to dirty carpets. The size is fabulous though and the rent cheap. The 38 bus runs slowly, too, and is rarely on time. It goes to Center City, but you might wait outside for an hour or more during non-rush hour. All in all, if you don't mind a family of mice and can drive everywhere and are handy with a hammer and screwdriver, this is a good place. But if not, look for something else. The money you save here just goes back into the apt anyway, so just spend the money upfront elsewhere.

Too true. And now that the building has suffered from a fire which burned down and created damage to numerous apartments, the building as a whole is getting short shrift. The place stinks of the fire on many floors, fire doors are opened and broken, the hallway carpets are flooded and disgusting (dirty, smelly), the walls filthy. Not to mention that the management told people-including elderly ones (and including a family member of mine) in particular-to move back into their apartments while mold from water damage is growing on walls with wet carpets. There are still signs that talk about the uninhability of the wings, and they are in use! L&I came in and was so pissed off, that they told all the tenants that they could find that management was getting 7 violation fines a day. Disgusting!

Management is very poor. I rented an apartment of the first floor, #229. During 2004 there were 2 times that Philadelphia caught the tail end of Hurricanes from the South that poured a lot of rain. Somehow, my TOILET AND SINK IN BOTH BATHROOMS WAS CONNECTED TO THE DRAIN FROM ABOVE, LIKE THE ROOF. I CAME HOME TO FIND THAT WATER WAS SHOOTING OUT OF ALL FOUR (2SINK, 2TOILETS.) THE TOILET WAS JUST SPILLING GALLONS OF WATER (NOT SEWAGE) JUST PLAIN WATER, BUT IT FLOODED THE APARTMENT. I was moved to the fourth floor, but not before my mattress was ruined. The elevators never work and there is a rat problem. One hole wing of the apartment EXPLODED and over 20 apartments went up in flames. The stink of fire and dangerous mold content in the air permeates the hallways. STAY AWAY very very FAR AWAY. |

Wow, davidgold, I am so sorry to hear that. Esther is such a horrible person. I can't understand how she does this to people's lives time and time again.
