When you first see the place, you are probably impressed with how much space you are getting in the apartment. That is about the only upside to this place. Bugs are everywhere (thousand leggers, waterbugs, roaches, stink bugs, ants, potato bugs, etc), tenants leave the doors to the complex propped open and wonder why they get robbed, etc.
A lot of younger college kids are moving in which really sucks. When I moved here, it was families, the elderly, young business professionals, or quiet grad/med students. Now undergrads, or med students who you know aren't going to graduate, have moved in and it is party after party after party. It is so loud, they trash the place, and their guests take up parking spaces that are meant for the residents.
Someone else commented on how people fight in the parking lot...I witnessed that...and also saw them cussing out residents for "watching them", even though they were just walking in the parking lot trying to get to their cars or go inside the building.
You move to the suburbs to get away from the crazy crap, I shouldn't see police vehicles coming into the complex to break up fights. Just last week I walked in on someone trying to break into people's mail boxes, no less probably trying to steal people's credit card info.
The complex has recently taken away the pool from residents, so beware if they tell you a pool is included in your rent. They tend to fix things on time, but there are times where it takes forever because everything in this complex is falling apart at the same time. They are gradually painting the walls and trying to make the outside look nicer.
It seems for the amount of money you are paying, you can get a lot more for it.
