By far a horrible place to live!

I have read most of the reviews on here and they are pretty accurate. As someone who has lived there for two years, here is my honest assessment:

Pros:
-very spacious apartments with tons of closet space
-great location -- doesnt get better than being by the highways, west river dr, target, pathmark, the park etc.
-rent is decently low for what you are getting, in theory
-free parking

Cons:
-the parking is free, but hard to come by....the construction made it that much worse to obtain a parking spot (I was disgusted when I saw a perfectly healthy man park in a handicap spot, didnt have a handicap license plate or placard, and saw an old frail woman desperately trying to carry her groceries from the end of the parking lot)

-it does take a ridiculous amount of time to get things fixed, if it ever is fixed, but I blame management, not the maintenance "crew" - I use crew lightly because there is only two guys servicing a deteriorating building, there is no way they can keep up with the work orders

-MANAGEMENT is filled with a bunch of morons. Connie doesn't care about anyone or anything. Genevieve is a horrible person. I came to her with a problem and she actually said "I don't care, that's not my problem." WOW...I should have slapped her! I called the corporate office and they never returned any of my calls. They also lost my lease! Now I am talking about the new management. The old management wasnt that great either but at least they didn't tell me it's not their problem and the ladies working the front desk were super sweet and really did try to help me out, excluding the owners wife.

-safety is really bad here. doors are propped open all of the time. two apartments next to mine got robbed during the day. a homeless man was living on the roof for a while (management's response was: what do you want me to do about it!). cars have been broken into. almost caught someone, they were about to take a bat to my window when I started screaming, he missed got the side of my car instead and ran. unfortunately it left a huge dent in my car.

-pests. pests. pests. there are roaches all over the hallways and stairwell. I had baby roaches enter my apartment through the wall where your shower pipes are. management tried to tell me there were none!! they were actually crawling on me when I was sleeping at one point and I said enough is enough - fix the roach problem or so help me God I am going to put them in a jar and throw them at you while you are at your desk....they then fixed the problem. they also have a ridiculous amount of stink bugs that enter the apartment during the summer months.

-this is odd, but they put new windows in my apt and no screens. when I asked them about the screens, they told me to buy my own!

-good luck if you are on the bottom floor or top floor. between flooding and leaking roofs, they take their sweet old time fixing it.

And the list goes on....luckily I moved out recently. And had a major battle with them trying to get my security back. From start to finish, they were a pain.
