Great Place to Live!

I have been reading all of the reviews and am very shocked! I have lived in Fairmount terrace for two years and all of my problems stopped when the new management took over. I used to always file complaints that went unanswered until the new management team came in. I think that Connie and Genevieve (the people working in the office) are very attentive and have been very helpful when I have had any issues from having things in my apartment fixed to having my rent late. The apartment sizes are great. I have a 2bedroom/2bath and the prices are very reasonable. It is very quiet in the building and I really appreciate this since my fiance and I are both graduate students. All of the enhancements that are being done in the building look great and I would think that people woild understand that change takes time and the building will be great when they are complete. Overall I think that the new management is doing a wonderful job and I will be staying here and I recommend that people consider this a place to live.

I also agree with this poster. I lived under the old nasty regime, and things were just horrible. Only basic repairs were done, there were no upgrades, and money was saved at all costs. Management was just a puppet of the owners of the building, so if you had complaints, they had to pass muster with the powers that were..and you would get nothing but the run around, because no money was to be spent on this place. As a result, the building was a literal House of Cards. You never knew if the place was going to fall apart, because the cheap and selfish owners tried to squeeze every dime out of this cash cow, without giving anything back.
With the new management company, all I have is glowing praise. Genevieve, the property manager and Connie, her assistant, are amazing! They are kind, respectful, and will do anything to help you. They are sometimes stymied by contractors who are slow to respond, or previous employees who did not do their job, so did not put in work orders. Sometimes, management has to be cajoled to keep up with requests, but I don't mind this, because of their constantly sunny attitude and the knowledge that there are multiple orders that have priority. Additionally, I am happy because an appliance that needs to be replaced is actually replaced! You don't end up with someone else's old one, as you regularly did, with the former owners/managers. Fairmount Terrace used to be an awful but conveniently located place to live, so I put up with the crap from previous management, and even from some of the newer but ineffectual employees who have since been let go. Now, the office door is always open, you are heard, and life is MUCH MUCH more pleasant here! |
