OK place to live

I lived there for one year in a two-bedroom apartment. I just moved out in December. The rooms were a nice size. There was a new fridge and stove in the unit, however, other things could've been updated. The fixtures were old-fashined with spider webs. The kitchen cabinets were old and there wasn't a lot of counter space. The hardwood floors were nic and the carpet was new. The paint job throughout wasn't that good. Some of the bathroom tiles were missing or the patch-up job was done poorly.
On the first day of move-in, there was a leak from upstairs in the bathroom and master bedroom. I had a basement/ground level apartment. The leak was stopped but the warped paint on the ceilings were never removed and repainted, and the carpet wasn't shampooed from the leak either. There were brown stains left on the ceilings from the leak. Luckily we didn't have all our furniture in the bedroom or it would've been ruined.
The laundry facility, if you want to call it that, was a joke. There were only two washers and two dryers for the entire building. I believe there were about 13 units on each floor in a three-story building. It was very difficult to get laundry done. I noticed most tenants used the laundromat a few blocks away. I brought my washer with me and bought an apt. sized dryer for my unit. I have small children and constantly needed to wash clothes. The laundry room wasn't convenient for me.
But for the price, it started out at $715, and it was only blocks from where I worked, it was a good place to live. I think it makes a great starter apartment but not something permanent.
