I couldn't agree with the other comment more. I went through basically the same thing. First I would like to say that my building ALWAYS had a foul odor in the hallway. One of my neighbor's was the ABSOLUTE worst, they complained morning noon and night if I as much as watched my television and it wasn't loud. I would have company over and have her complain constantly, people told me that she was in the wrong because the volume was not loud and legally between 10am and 8 pm I'm allowed to make noise without worrying about her constant bickering. For the most part they came when I called them, but when they left the problem was still there. I had a problem with my doorbell either not working at all or constantly ringing (stuck), leaky faucet in the bathroom and a freezer that froze when it wanted to. When I finally was lucky enought to leave the apartment, one of the maintance people thanked me for keeping the apartment in good condition. But when I spoke with Monica she charged me for problems that were there when I moved in (i.e. missing tiles in the bathroom, a small crack on the bedroom window). I was only there for 1 year and she KEPT MY DEPOSIT because she said that I caused the damage. PLEASE if you move into this apartment building take pictures of EVERYTHING before you move in so you can have a leg to stand on if she tries this with you too. I didn't have a roach problem, but I did have a bad mouse problem, everytime I complained I got very little results. You can't control the heat and it was always on VERY HIGH, it was always sooo hot in my apartment that I had to keep my window open in the winter time. And you can clean the apartment from top to bottom or even hire professionals to clean, be prepared for her to complain about ANY THING to keep your deposit. To put it short, your security deposit is more of a handout, because 2 other people that I spoke to that once lived there also complained about their security deposit. PLEASE, save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere.
