i live in the rectangular one bedroom, faces West (as do all the one bedrooms of this layout).

Here are the pros:
-Convenient, I need to commute via the El
-Quality food shopping at Reading Terminal
-Central air/heating
-Never issues with warm/cold water
-Basic cable some movie channels covered (no HD box though if you want)
-Mini-gym on site (of course, it's not a full-sized gym - but if you need a quick workout, it's great)
-Large bedroom, good for queen size bed, computer desk, shelf, etc.
-Safe walk from Market to Vine at any hour on 11th
-Good number of young working professionals
-Good staff
-Two on-site PhillyCarShare cars

Cons:
-Some people like to leave their laundry in the machines and come back hours later (maybe it's just my floor - or just everyone')
-Weird room configuration - and no natural light in the living room of the "1 bedroom"
-Can't fit dining table
-Some annoying high school students (that probably live with their families in the bigger units) and younger kids, that sometimes are let loose to run around the common areas - can be very annoying if you want to study/do work in the 2nd floor common area, but they respect you if you ask them to stop (or ask the security guard to tell them)
-No parking (but can easily get monthly passes at any of the nearby convention center lots)



As for some of the other comments, I have never seen any type of infestation (rodents/insects). The walls are not that bad - yes, you can sometimes hear your neighbors (especially if they renovated with hardwood floors and don't have any rugs, etc) but having lived in Philadelphia for quite a while, I've noticed that thin-walls seem to be prevalent. There are a lot of working professionals, retired couples, and some families.
