I am going to PCOM and apartment searching has been HORRIBLE. When I found Imperial, it was definitly better than a lot of others. Reminded me of Beekman - Beekman didnt have the availability I needed.
I liked that all utilities were included in rent. It LOOKS safe - you need a key to get into the elevator and there's a doorman (i've met three of them so far) that have to buzz you in to get through the main door.
Parking is included -- looks like it could get a little hairy at night but that's usual for this area from what I've gathered.
The apartments I looked at had balconies which is a nice plus to be able to go outside. For a grad student, apartment was good.
Not the most modern apartment building (hallways etc) but they did do a good job of making it appear clean. Laundry is on each floor (a huge plus for us after looking at Presidential, where anyone could access the laundry rooms off the street) and doesn't require quarters - you can put money on a MacGray card and use it that way.
We'll see how it goes, but so far my experience has not been bad.
The apartment we looked at had new appliances and the layout was nice.
I'll re-edit my review but the two woman in the leasing office appeared friendly.
