Horrible Management
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 7/16/2009
Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
I lived at KPA and must warn anyone interested in the building on the horrible management. I did not have heat in my apartment until late December despite calling everyday to have maintenance fix the problem. The original air conditioning unit in the apartment was hooked up to an outlet that lit on fire when turned on. This unit was finally replaced a year later after multiple phone calls, and the manager had the audacity to request that I personally pay for half of the new unit. The safety of the building is marginal. Anyone can come and go into the building, and many of the doors to apartments show signs of past break ins. The alarm system advertised during the tour of the building is a farce- it doesn't work and isn't set up. The laundry room has two washers and dryers, all that are routinely vandalized and non-operable. The heat and water bill is split between all tenants, so if you live alone, you pay just as much as full families. You may as well consider your security deposit as nonrefundable. Despite an impeccable apartment, I was denied my deposit, and the manager refused to return my phone calls to discuss the matter. The hallways are never cleaned and have cobwebs, bugs, and dirt everywhere. There is a serious stinkbug infestation as well. The parking lot has potholes that are poorly repaired, and there was a tree that had fallen during a storm that was left down in the parking lot for over 6 months. In fact, it was still there when I moved out. When I had cable installed, the cable man had to rewire around the entire building because the cable wires were rotten and unusable. I feel extremely bad for anyone currently living in this dump. If you can find any other apartment, I strongly advise you to live elsewhere!
