This was the worst place I've ever lived

I can't believe that the previous good reviews written of Korman were written by anyone other than staff.
Staff was very helpful before I moved in, but once in residence, they were very slow in dealing with any problems and sometimes just downright rude.
My apartment was nice, great layout, but the noise level from neighbors was unbearable. The walls between apartments are so thin that I could hear my downstairs neighbor sneeze, talk, everthing.
Another neighbor had a large dog that would howl all day long. They also had a parrott that constantly made noise and a cat that used the common hallway as a litter box. Management refused to address this issue.
Also, before I moved in, management didn't disclose the fact that MANY of their units are rented to an outpatient mental facility. The patients roam freely about the complex.
In the three years that I lived there, at least six of my neighbor's cars were vandalized in the parking lot. It's a nice looking area but not as safe as you'd think. There was a shooting there circa 2002.
Oh, and it's NOT 15 minutes to Center City- it's about 30 minutes without traffic.

There is nothing wrong with me and I'm not prejudiced- I was merely stating the facts of my experiences while living there.
Korman rents at least 8 of the two bedroom duplexes on Helmer Drive to Northwestern Human Services, which is a city funded mental health system. The office is (or was) in one of the duplexes at 10929 Helmer Drive. Korman has a responsibility to inform prospective tenants that they rent a good portion of the units on Helmer Drive to Northwestern.
I did have a neighbor who was handicapped- he'd had a leg amputated. He signed a lease on a ground floor unit due to his disability. When he arrived to move in, they put him in a different unit. Upstairs. Korman made a man with one leg wait for over a year for a ground floor unit with no apologies.
Maybe management has changed drstically since I lived there, but these are my experiences and I stand by my statements.

There are no mental patients living at Korman! What are you talking about? Maybe you're prejudice towards some residents that are older and need assistance or people who are less fortunate than you because of a handicap which is not their fault! I saw one guy walking near the pool once who seemed "mentally handicapped" he said good morning to me and continued on his morning stroll. What is wrong with you? I've been there since December and my upstairs neighbor has a large dog but, I never hear anything above me and the staff if wonderful even after I have been there for almost a year!

I am living in Korman right now. There is mental patients living here. they roam around day and night. one guy from maintence told me that. i was in a one bedroom unit before and it was awesome the only thing that was bad was the people upstairs was SO loud. they would stomp their feet and a little kid would be running around screaming all day. Now im in a 2 bedroom and the upstairs people stomp their feet going up the stairs to their apartment. the walls are SO thin. Not to mention the staff here sucks. I called at 10 this morning to get my knob on my shower fixed and its now 4 pm and im still waiting for it to get fixed. havent been able to shower all day. not to mention i have tons of stuff to get done today. Oh and they say fitness center. Its never open !! maybe they should change the hours on that. I would never rent from here again.
