WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

How evil is the Left Bank' Let me count the ways.

SURVEILLANCE: There is surveillance everywhere, a severe invasion of privacy. From the doorsteps to the elevators to the rooftop, the surveillance never stops and the concierges use it to meddle in your life as much as possible. A quiet dinner-date on the roof was interrupted because the concierge told us we couldn't have a candle! I've been physically blocked several times from bringing my bike to my apartment -- for some reason, they feel they can tell me what I can and can't have in my own apartment!

FEES and RULES: There are tons of unnecessary rules and so many fees attached to them. I was charged $50 for forgetting my keys in my apartment - it would inconvenience the concierge -- what is he for again' Oh, yeah - to make my life hell. Everyone has to call up, be rung in and then also sign in and have to conceirge call up again. It is really humiliating to have guests over. I never wanted to invite anyone over because I knew they would be harassed by the concierge.

BULLIES : The Left Bank seriously messed with my life. They rented my apartment three weeks before my lease ended, bullied me and threatened to withhold my security deposit, and then - after I made all the arrangements to move - changed their mind and said I was responsible until the end of the lease. They are terrible bullies and living here has been the worst experience ever.

Other sucky things --
There are tons of weird smells and poor ventilation to get rid of them.
The walls are super thin, so you don't even have privacy from your neighbors.
The aesthetic/design of the place is CHEESY and CORPORATE. It looks like a hotel, it's very sterile, and the floors are carpeted. This is an affordable city where you can rent a gorgeous house in a nice neighborhood for $1600. It is SUCH a rip-off to be paying for a cheeseball apartment for that price.
There is NO neighborhood here - you are isolated, on the bridge, so you're not going to get to know or love Philly.
