Major Hot Water Problem This Winter

My wife and I have lived here a for almost 2 years now. For the most part, we have enjoyed living here and there have not been any major problems. That has changed this winter. During the past month or so, we have had serious problems with hot water in our apartment. It has become pretty much impossible to have a hot shower in the morning. We turn the water as high as it can go, and the best you can get is lukewarm water. We are able to take a shower, but it is very painful. Several mornings, it has been so cold that we basically had to shiver our way through a shower. I have called about this problem many times, always to be told that they are working on it. The Property Manager informs me that they are waiting for a part which will hopefully be here soon. Eddie and the Property Manager have been very nice, and I am hopeful that they will fix the problem. However, for the price of this apartment, I have to say that I find the amount of time that has passed to be very unsatisfactory. While my wife were already planning on moving when our lease is up, this hot water problem makes me all the more eager for that time to pass.

I do reiterate that, in all other respects, we have not had any major problems living here, and have actually enjoyed it. However, we are very unsatisfied with the hot water condition right now. Even now, at 12:30 on a Saturday, I took a shower about 15 minutes ago and could not get any hot water - just warm enough to take a shower without being utterly miserable. I can understand having problems with the hot water during the winter time, especially when it is colder than it has been in several years, but taking over a month to get it fixed seems to be way too long for this kind of problem.

Just wanted to update the post I left above. The hot water problem has been fixed. And, to the Property Manager's credit, it was fixed about the time she said it would be fixed. That was nice because, often times, when someone says it is going to be fixed by X date, you often wonder if they are just giving you the run around, when it really won't be fixed until a much later date. I give credit to the Property Manager for being accurate in her estimate of the time it took to get it fixed. I will also say that I, while I said I would not recommend the Left Bank when I left the post above, I misspoke. I would recomment the Left Bank. In all other respects, my wife and I have had very few problems in the almost two years that we have lived here. Overall the Left Bank is a a great place to live - clean, safe, well managed, spacious, etc. For apartment living in the city, it is hard to beat the Left Bank. When I left the above review, all I can say is that it is really tough to not have hot showers for an extended period of time. No matter where one is living, you are going to have occasional maintenance problems, and, while this one was tough, it could have been worse.
