DON'T DO IT! AWFUL!

This apartment building is awful, and pretty expensive for a studio. It is on the limit of the university city line, so all of the awful things you hear about west Philadelphia apply. As of 07-08 the building was managed by API, but don't let Academic Properties, Inc. fool you, they rent to anyone, it has nothing to do with Academics, sometimes there are straight up gangs hanging out on the steps, and any chance of Drexel Security or UCity security coming by and breaking that up are hopeless, because usually they just stop and hang out with the gang. The elevator is a straight up trap, you're guaranteed to injure yourself or slam your belongings in the MANUAL doors at least once per week due to the fact that the doors are MANUAL and have not been oiled since installation, which makes them extremely hard to open. Of course, you could take the stairs, which are WINDING, coming down them is truly sickening. You will see roaches and other creepy crawlies, but it's not too awful. Haven't seen any mice in my year here (knock on wood). The laundry facilities are truly API's finest, ha, getting to the laundry room is like a scene from Hostel, dirty, dimly lit hall with numerous locked doors on all sides, when you finally get to the laundry room, you must fidget with your key for at least ten minutes, because the lock is mostly broken, when you do get in, you will notice four washers and four dryers, don't be fooled, only one of each is working. Much of your clothes will not come out clean, as these facilities have not been cleaned since installation. The free heat' HAHAHA, being on the fourth floor, you would think the whole "heat rises" principle would make the apartment unbearably hot, untrue, the free heat is turned on maybe once per month at fifty degrees max. And the maintenance men' best not to call them. You have to call the office to get maintenance to come, which means you're not in direct contact with them, which means they will just show up unannounced and open your door, because they have keys, with no knock... unfortunate if you're not fully clothed or using the bathroom, as has happened to me... literally. Finally, if you're not truly turned off, API will send you "memos", ie. papers slid under your door for things that are happening that day or the next day, such as the one which said all air conditioners must be removed or face an $80 fine, which was dated and slid under the door for one day before the deadline.

but other than that, these apartments and API are great!
