Depends on What You're Into

I lived in Liberties Lofts for over a year, and the experience was so-so. On the upside, the lofts are aesthetically pleasing. The windows and brick are very nice, look even better in the right lighting. The landlord was fair, never hassled me, and responded to any problems I had. The neighborhood was good too. Sure there's crime in the area. You're in Philly. Don't pretend to be surprised that cars are occasionally broken into. I came across someone who had her car broken into and her iPod and purse had been sitting in the front seat. This isn't the Main Line, sweetheart.
As far as negatives, the walls are indeed paper-thin. I became very familiar with the sexual habits of my neighbor (pretty quiet until she got close, if you know what I mean). I also was party to her particularly bad break-ups. You're going to be at the mercy of your neighbors. And their 4am Tuesday coke-fueled photo-shoots/dance parties.
All in all - I give it a B-
