I have been living in Lincoln Green Apts for about 7 months now. I think the apartments are MUCH better than some other places in the vicinity. Firstly, the corridors are spacious and airy (a welcome change from the musty, dingy, carpeted corridors of most apartment complexes). The in-unit washer, dryer and dish washer are a blessing ! The bathrooms are not very generous in size but I like the over-all quality of construction.
The only sore point about the apartment is the staff in the lease office. They are the most stuck-up and rude people I have ever encountered. After a few minor altercations with them, I have decided to keep my interactions with them to the minimum.
The maintenance staff is good and responsive. Depending on the urgency of the request, they are generally quick to act. Security is good and I have not faced any problems so far.
I see that a lot of people complain about the ir neighbours and the kind of residents who are renting here. Frankly, I haven't faced any problem so far. Most residents are working professionals and keep to themselves. Since the apartment rent is a little bit on the high side (compared to the adjacent Presidential City Apts), I don't think anyone and everyone is able to afford it.
Parking is ample. Residents do tend to drive a little rash inside the complex but then again, thats a problem everywhere. You just have to look both ways before you cross.
Septa routes 44, 38, 121, 1 and 65 are within walking distance. There are 2 supermarkets close by (Pathmark which is a 5 minute walk through a short-cut and Acme which is about a 12 minute walk down City Line).
Another subtle point to consider is the location of the complex. Please note that Lincoln Green apartments is officially located in Philadelphia, zip code 19131. (Philadelphia ends on City Line Avenue). So if you are working anywhere across City Line in Bala Cynwyd, Ardmore, Narberth etc, it might make sense to look for an apartment on "that" side of City Line so that you don't have to pay Philadelphia tax just because you stay on the wrong side of the street.
