I was overall pretty happy with this complex and would have recommended it and might still with reservations, but a recent experience with the office manager has changed my mind and reminded me of everything I don't like about this complex. The apartments themselves are pretty nice and pretty spacious, with the notable exception of the cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. The shelves are unfinished wood and after over 20 years of use, they are disgusting. They are stained and often sticky. I spent three days papering all of the shelves before I would put any bowls or towels in them. The hot water heater is only half-size, so make sure to heat water on the stove if you want a hot bath. They tell you that you have a "swim club membership", but this is false advertising. It means that you have access to one of two tiny pools on the grounds. The best part is that these pools are only open about three months of the year, even if the weather is consistently hot for much longer. I was sitting on the end of the pool one very hot late summer day and they very rudely told me that I was not supposed to be in the pool area and promptly kicked me out because they were draining it for the season. There were no signs to indicate this.
They are good about inside maintenance, but terrible about the outside. Steps leading up to my apartment were breaking apart and they merely turned the steps around the other way instead of replacing them. They also have not replaced the light outside of my door and now the one across the way is out as well. I asked them to do that a month ago. The inside maintenance man is very, very nice and does good work, but even though the lease states that all maintenance workers have to contact the tenant by phone before coming into an apartment, he has repeatedly arrived without notice, twice when I was just getting out of the shower, which was very frightening, being alone in the apartment.
The office staff is occasionally nice, but extremely indifferent. There must be at least 5 people working in there and often they must be hunted down for help. If you want to change apartments they treat you terribly. The lady in charge of this is almost never available and treats you like a nuisance whenever you are able to get a moment with her. The deal is that you become a brand new tenant to them if you change apartments. You have to come up with another deposit for the new apartment before they will give you your first one back and the price of the deposit is outrageous. On top of that, you have to pay them a $200 transfer fee. For what, I really don't know, since you become a new tenant. The application fee per new tenant is already a pricey $40, so I don't know how they get off charging current tenants a $200 transfer fee if they want to charge apartments. Old tenants who change apartments must pay more than brand new tenants who are just moving in! Your lease also remains a year, even though it should become month-to-month when you have lived in the complex for a year. So, despite being a model tenant who pays their very expensive rent every month right on time, your track record is erased and you become a stranger. It's like they do not want us here at all! It's no wonder that the two apartments below us have been empty for at least 4 months now.
You will not be remembered, nor rewarded for being a model tenant at this complex and I am sick of the half-hearted office staff and the unhelpful, unsympathetic and often rude office manager. It's a shame. I am very happy for those who do enjoy this complex because it's not too bad, but until they revamp the office staff, I don't believe I will be staying.

It seems the both of you are disgrunted and just stupid. I am sure you were robbed at gun point. I actually called the local police about that one after reading your message and they stated there have been no robberies at Lincoln Green that has been reported to them in a very long time. I am sure you would still be living there also, grow up and if you had anything worth listening to you would sign your name. People like u just like to cause trouble cause you probably didnt get you way
