August 6, 2006 - The search is on for the man or men who beat and raped a 23-year-old woman. It happened Sunday morning in broad daylight at the Lincoln Green Apartments off Presidential Blvd. in Philadelphia's Wynnefield Heights.
Residents of the Lincoln Green Apartments are stunned. The alleged rape happened around 9 Sunday morning. On what was a beautiful Sunday morning, a young woman's life got turned upside down.

Police say according to the victim's account, one, possibly 2 men first knocked on the door. Next thing she knew she was being attacked from behind. Police suspect the attackers may have gained entrance through a side window.

Once inside, the victim was tied up, beaten and raped. The attackers then tried to clean the crime scene before fleeing.

Residents are shocked. Most went about their business unaware of what happened, despite the police presence and crime scene tape.

Police have no suspects. They're still trying to do an extensive interview with the victim. She remains heavily sedated at a local hospital. Security guards manned Lincoln Green's front entrance early Sunday evening.

The apartment complex had no comment.

Police don't have any suspect descriptions. Again, they hope to gain more information once they can do a detailed interview with the victim. This much they do know, the victim did not know her attacker or attackers.
