Security here is a JOKE. After the brutal and worst rape police had seen in years in the Summer of 2006, which occurred right here at Lincoln Green apartments, NOTHING has been done to improve security. 'Management' installed a new gate, which has not been closed once. It is a brand new motorized gate that works by remote and it has never once been shut. The same security people who were here in the summer still work here, and so much for security. If you can't get in by car, they let anyone walk through the front gate. The worst part is that management has charged everyone $50 extra for each remote. Remotes often lose programming and have caused a huge hassle. Secondly, god forbid you forget your remote one day, because security makes you (as a rent paying resident)walk all the way to your apartment to get your remote, but yet they will let anyone walk through or let selective people in. With the combination of management, security, and the price of rent ($1000/month), this place is the WORST. Security and management are RUDE and until you pay utilities on top of the rent here, it's like a mortgage payment. Basically, if you want access to your own apartment, if you do not want to live in fear of your own safety, and if you want a no hassle lifestyle...DO NOT CHOOSE LINCOLN GREEN.

I would not consider that rape one of the most brutal in Philadelphia and it seems to me, as a resident, that they are taking proactive measures to make things better. Move to North Philly and then you can be scared, but the area really is not that bad.
