This is not so much a review of the actual apartments as it is to be intended to be read by future tenants of Lincoln Green. I am a possible future tenant of Lincoln Green and this will be the third time re-signing my lease. After the second time I had went back to thier office and signed the lease, I was called back a few weeks later and was told that the people who are the tenants there decided to change their mind and wanted thier apartment back. I was told that even though I already signed the lease it needed to be switched to another apartment and I needed to return to re-sign the lease under a new apartment number. After speaking with a friend who is a real estate attorney I was advised that a rental lease is not legally binding unless both parties (the tenant & the leasing agent/responsible party) sign the lease. I contacted Lincoln Green to obviousally inquire about this and was advised that for all tenants they will NOT give you a copy of the official signed lease (meaning signed by thier landlord/responsible party) until the day of move in. Basically, this means after you sign a lease with Lincoln Green the apartment is NOT guaranteed to be yours (i.e. tenants decide to stay there, they give your apt to a pal etc.) until the actual day of the move in putting you in major jepoardy. Since I already paid approx. 1,500 to them I don't want my hard earned money to be taken from me. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS before you sign the lease so you don't end up like me and possibly have no place at all to stay at as result of the lease. I thought that there would be some people out there who would not believe me, but if you don't just ask a real estate attorney or even ask Lincoln Green when you will get your lease- and they should tell you the same thing I was told. There is also a website called JustAnswer.com and all you need to do is pay $15 and an attorney will answer this same question.

Wrong, if they put you in jeopardy after you entered into a verbal contract in good faith you can sue for damages. They presented you with a lease which they witnessed you sign. If they decided to reneg on that agreement, you would be well within your rights to sue them for damages.
