I personally love living at Lofts 640 and adamently disagree with some of the comments posted. Coming from NYC, I can tell you that you can't get anything like it in NYC or Philly for the price. I understand that there have been construction delays but anyone who has ever owned a property and done construction should know and understand there are always delays and things never go as planned. The management at Lofts 640 have been extremely apologetic and are doing everything in their power to deliver us the amenities we were promised. They are also giving concession extensions to those of us who moved in first and have been living there the longest without the pool, gym, etc. I really see everything finally coming together and it looks like we are going to have everything that was promised very soon.
The area is great, you can't live in center city and get what we do for the price. We are 6 blocks from City Hall. For those who want to classify the neighborhood as ghetto obviously have no sense of reality. There are plenty of bums on the corner of 17th and Walnut....is that the ghetto too' We live in the city....even the suburbs have car break-ins.
I have never had a mouse problem or any issues with my thermostat. In fact any problems I have had the maintenance staff was extremely helpful and fixed anything and everything in a timely manner. Ted and his crew have been very helpful to me and they go above and beyond because they want to keep me happy. They realize that they haven't delivered to us what they said they would so every time an opportunity arises to help me out they do. What more can you ask for'
Parking your car inside a garage is such a pleasure and it is included. You can't find that anywhere else. So its a little tight, you adjust to your surroundings. Would you rather pay $275 per month in center city'
I just don't think its fair to give a completely negative review. As a physician at a nearby hospital, one of the best in the country, I have lived in many cities and many rental communities. I have dealt with several different management companies and their staff. The staff at Lofts 640 have always been extraordinary, I haven't experienced anything like it. We all knew going in that we were the first residents in a new building. The things that have been promised are coming in the next month or so and will be a compliment to an existing great building. My view of the city is fabulous, my loft is HUGE, everything is brand new, the staff is superb, the parking is a bonus and I will continue to live at Lofts 640 and refer all incoming residents and friends for the next 3 years at least while I'm in Philly.

I also lived in NYC before coming to Lofts 640 and yes I agree you cannot get anything like it in NYC for the price, however this is not NYC nearly. The area IS ghetto, take a picture of the block and then take a picture of "17th and Walnut" and compare. I sure know that if I want to take a walk at night I would rather be on 17th and Walnut than Broad and Fairmount. Besides the bums have you consudered the trash and glass all over the ground everywhere? The run down buildings surrounding? And how could you say that it is a great thing that they are allowing the first residents an extention of the current rent price? That rent price was supposed to include all these amenities already! Look at their website! If anything Lofts 640 should be offering a discount on the rent for next year, not 6 months at the current rate and then 6 months a few hundred more! "Hey thanks for paying for letting us screw you! -Lofts 640. I don't know about you, but I think it's ridicilous that they started working on the Annex after they started the pool and now the annex is almost done while the pool sits and waits. They have been telling me "1 month" for the past 9. Maybe you haven't been here as long, maybe you have, but there are actually plenty of apartment complexes IN center city that offer free parking. The only thing less that Lofts 640 has that they don't is the pool, which we don't have! Plus they cost less. Bottom line is Lofts 640 advertises as being "luxury" and it definitely has a few more years until it is that. Take away the pool and then compare to other places and see how you feel. |

Consider the source. How 'real' is it to take what a doctor says as true. They live at the top of the ladder. No offense, I bet its real nice to be that person, but what about the average person who isnt a physician?
