Well where to start. My stay at this very lovely "luxury building" has been mired with so many problems and issues that I would like to dissuade anyone thinking of renting here.
1) The neighborhood was said to be 'transitioning'. Translation, we have a homeless shelter 1 block away, we have bums that pee in the street outside the bedroom windows, we have dumpster divers nightly.
2) Said to be 'reasonably priced'. Translation.... We will gouge you on the fact that the ceilings are more than 10 feet tall. This also translates to 400-600 dollar heating bills and air conditioning bills. The people from NYC have no room to comment here, as Philly does NOT equal NYC by a long-shot as much as it would like to think that.
3) NOTHING and I mean NOTHING is ever ready when promised. We were told on several occasions that things (amenities) would be ready. NONE were done on time nor were they ever close to the promised date.
4) CRIME. My roommates friend who visited for an overnight stay was shocked to find his car broken into the next morning. When reported to the management, they could not even return a phone call or offer any kind of assurance this would not happen again. So a time later, his friend comes back against good advice from his parents, parking his car right outside our building only to find his car broken into AGAIN! Real luxurious living I concur!
5) DUST. I'm not quite sure why, but dust accumulates within the apartments at an blistering exponential rate. It is always dirty!
6) WALLS. The walls are exceptionally thin. Some shelves that were hung fell, destroying all the property on them. Even when anchored.
7) OVER-privileged residents. I will say that the residents of this building (as a whole) are the most stuck-up and unfriendly people I've ever encountered. They will pass you by in the hallway and look the other way or pretend they didn't see you. How hard is it to say "hi how are you'". Not very.... Manners manners!
8) The luxurious roof-deck which I will admit is very nice, is closed for the winter. What about those of us who enjoy having a nice hot chocolate on a brisk fall day or even winter day' What a waste. Also.... the pool is only open for a time during the day. It closes early on weekends, when most people would want to use it. Other pools in this city are open around the clock.
9) NO storage.
10) Certain apartments now are not including parking. Now they charge you. How money-grubbing are they' QUITE!
11) You very rarely see results when you address the management about certain issues. All you get is a line of BS that it will be taken care of..... NOPE.
I could continue, but for the sake of time, I'll stop here. There are so many more rants I could list, but I think by now you get the point. Consider the source of the people who rate this building as GREAT. They are probably the people that dont have to work for a living, the people that dont have responsibilities or expectations about what a "luxury building" entails. Or better yet, how do we even know that the staff of this building didnt post these reviews to boost its own accolades' Food for thought. I dont regret moving in here because I see now what I don't want in a building, but I'd discourage anyone from renting from this building or any building that is owned by this corporation.
