Good Experience Overall

I lived in the Marchwood for 3 years in two different units. The first experience wasn't too good. The First floor was a bit noisy and the pipes made a horrible sound in the winter. When we moved up to the second floor in lease number two we had a great view of the courtyard and a huge unit. The maintenence staff was great with handling problems... especially Tom the manager. We were late with rent once or twice and they were understanding and worked with us.

The positives... Great location. Easy access to the city and suburbs. The neighbors were friendly professionals and students spanning the age range. There were a few students that had parties occasionally but never anything bad.

The negatives... parking on the street is not safe. Many instances of broken-into vehicles as there are some unsavory types living a few ------ away. I had a stereo stolen in the span of 30 minutes right in the driveway. You must pay to park in the garage and it costs about $100/month. It is almost mandatory to pay for parking if you care about your car. There is no central a/c, no washer/drier in the units as they are coin operated and in the basement. Laundry was a big hassle as you had to lug it. I have my own washer and drier and had to store them in the basement unused.
