Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2009
I have been living at the Marine Club for 5 years. Originally, the place was a good place to live, however since they started converting to condos the environment has changed dramatically. There is a constant struggle between condo owners and renters. Maintenance issues are very problematic. The building is old and the facilities are antiquated (with the exception being the gym). The hallway floors are horrible as are the carpets and the walls. There has been non-stop construction for a few years now and very little signs of improvement.
The management no longer even lives in the building, and this of course is reflected with how the building has been maintained. Cond owners may state that it is great, but that is because they want other people to purchase in the building. After more than 3 years since the announcement of the conversion to condos only 30% of the apartments have been converted. Additionally, they have raised the rent $100 per month the last couple years, even with the downturn in the economy.
Be very careful in renting in this facility (or purchasing).
