STAY AWAY!

I have lived here for almost a year and there has been ongoing maintence problems and constant noise, noise, noise. The fire alarm goes off often, and when it's not going off, the staff are "testing it", and then making blaring, annoying announcements about it over the PA system. The power has also gone out repeatedly, and get this: when it does there is no water available on the upper floors! That's right, they have no back-up pump and so you can forget about showering, using the toliet, cooking...even getting a glass of water. Last time it happend, it took them over 10 hours to fix the problem (because it was on a weekend). And, most recently, they had a pipe break on the roof and the whole building was flooded. -The damage was immense, and now I am living with commercial fans and humidifiers in the apartment, wallpaper hanging off the walls in the halls, dust, paint fumes, workers entering the apartment daily, and more noise from contractors...all day long for weeks on end. If it's not one thing, it's something else going wrong here. You will get no peace here...and you can forget about entertaining guests or even making an important phone call without a fire alarm in the background, drilling, hammering, etc. On top of all that, the rent, utilites, and parking are ridiculously high. You pay for "luxury" without any luxuries ...not even running water, electricity, or a quiet place to relax. You would be better of camping than staying here! Very poor value. AD2Hw9Wn8Umb3NN1w1jt

management strikes again
From: Anonymous Date: 06/09/2009
People I invite over walk past security all the time without being stopped. The shuttle service is cancelled constantly, usually with little to no notice. The staff make their blaring announcments about the fire alarms only long after they have been on. The alarms bother people OUTSIDE the building as they are so loud and frequent; how can they not bother you? You acknolwledge that there is a huge "remodeling" project going on but say there is no noise or pollution? How could there not be?? There is no such thing as silent workmen who do not do any construction during a remodeling. Oh, and your comment about it being ok to be so overpriced...really, anyone who reads these can tell that you are management trying to sweep all this under the rug for the moving season.

There is remodeling going on which includes replacing the wall paper and painting the entire place. This is probably because they had a water leak with mold problems. My question is - will repainting clear the mold in the walls? I don't want my place to smell. Is the water leak fixed permanently? What kind of management problems have you had?

I really can't answer as to whether or not the leak was fixed permanently. I hope it was! I really want to believe they are smart enough not to just slap a band aid on this thing. I would be so upset if everything smelled like mold after all of this work is done. I think a lot of people would be able to get out of their leases if that ever happened and I would be one of them. As far as management problems, I haven't had any. I haven't had much go wrong with my apartment. When I first moved in, some screens were out and the cabinet doors were a little askew but that stuff was taken care of the day after I moved in. I haven't needed to have much interaction with the management, honestly.
