I currently live at Park Towne and here is my story. I left my building at Park Towne at 8:45 a.m. to retrieve my car and go to class. However, there was a different car parked in the exact spot where I had parked my car the previous night. My first inclination was that my car had been stolen. I went to the management office to inquire if a call had been placed to have the car towed over night. The management office was open but there was no one inside. I waited inside for 15 minutes for someone to show up, thinking that if the car had in fact been stolen, I should be calling the police instead of standing there in the office waiting for someone to help me. When no one showed up, I went outside to find a sign that might have the towing company information on it. I called Todd s Towing and was informed that my car had been brought to their shop in Manayunk. The person I talked to did not know why, when or who initiated the towing of the car. I returned to the PT mgmt. office and was told by the person at the desk that the towing company takes pictures of the cars that are towed and I would have to request them from the towing company if I wanted to refute the charges incurred. Several phone calls over 5 days to Park Towne managment office went unanswered and unreturned. I was told repeatedly that the manager was not in but I could leave a voice mail. My mother wrote a letter to the office requesting the photos. That has never happened.
It is a well-known fact that parking at Park Towne Place is at best, inadequate. I parked my car at 11:15 p.m. in a spot adjacent to the pool, behind the yellow painted curbside. I have a parking permit on my car. I have seen other cars parked at this exact same location. In fact, after paying $175.00 to Todd s Towing to get my car back, I returned to Park Towne and saw another car parked in the exact same spot, however this car was parked in the wrong direction against traffic and remained there until the next day.
I won't bother to get into the water problems - leaking kitchen sink for months and no one knows how to fix it. It's a disgrace.
Why is it so difficult for Park Towne Management and staff to help the residents' Is it their job to make living here difficult and unpleasant day in and day out' Park Towne management needs to read these postings as well as people looking to rent in Philadelphia.
