I hated Park Towne Place! From getting my car towed to the shadiest lot in Manayunk when I had a sticker because I was a resident to constant roach problems, I would not recommend this poor excuse for an apartment complex to my worst enemy. The roaches were there when we moved in and we had the place fumigated 3 times and they charge you for it! My roommates and I are very neat people. This should not have happened and it should have been taken care of at their expense. There are constant plumbing problems. The water is constantly being turned off for maintenance with no warning, which is horrible when you come back from a run to learn they shut all the water off again! And the sinks and showers are always backing up for no reason. The management people are condescending and totally unhelpful. When you go to them with a problem they simply talk to you in an appeasing tone hoping you will go away without them having to do anything. There were repeated problems with our rent because one roommate had an automated withdraw on her account and when they forgot to withdraw they sent us a letter threatening to take us to court when it was there fault! And when you call to try to resolve a money issue or something about your bill that may be urgent, the accountant is never there! And god forbid anyone else helps you. The place was not all bad, but for the amount they ask... it should be a lot better. Not to mention they way they do utilities. Thy call it a "rub" system and make it sound really good, but here is the catch. No matter how conservative you are with your electric and heat etc, you still get charged for what your neighbors are using. We weren't even in the apartment for the month of December and it was the highest utility bill we ever had. They take some formula with the total amount used in the complex and divide it by your square footage and number of people etc and charge you even if you never turn on the heat you pay for it. Doesn't exactly inspire conservation or responsibility. Also, I can hear everything my neighbors are saying when I am in the kitchen or bathroom and our apartment smells like smoke from the vents even though none of the people that lived there smoked. Rude, bugs, water issues, unfair charges, inconvenient construction, intrusive, not enough parking, towing, bill issues, the bus is rarely on time and dependable, oh and did I mention... they are raising the rent. RIDICULOUS! DO NOT LIVE HERE!

I lived at Park Towne for 2 years and the things in this review are the exact reasons why we moved. Park Towne is an OK place to live, however the prices they are charging you are ridiculous for the incompetent service. Oh and how about our utilities (commenting to the idiotic utility bill) started out at under $60 a month when we moved in and by the time we moved out were at nearly $250. Unbelievable.

I love Park Towne, a great pool, parking garage, and the view is the best in the city. Easy to get anywhere in the city, I may even sell my car.!!
