Look, I'm tired of reading every bitchy person's review on this site. This is for everyone who wants a REAL review of apartment complexes. Realize now that people who write reviews are often people who don't like the place, and/or wish they'd made another choice.
Personally, I've lived in three different aparment complex, and this one's not bad. Yes, elevators are broken. But that's a Philly complex problem no matter WHERE you go, unless you're living in the St. James or someplace where a studio is over $2000. Most people just put up with the elevators. Oh, and if stupid ass people didn't ride the elevators DOWN from the fourth floor, maybe they wouldn't break from overuse!
Second, there are NO bugs in this building. I lived in a building that had roaches, and it was gross. But here' The worst I've seen is a fly that got in one of the windows. If you get bugs here, you're just DIRTY. Try cleaning up after yourself.
Third, the air conditioning is FINE. At first I thought mine didn't work, too, until I realized that you have to turn up the air using a small device in the windowsills. Now' Yeah, it doesn't cool the way a window unit might, but I never sweat.
Fourth, the maintenance people come as soon as they can. With so many tenants, immediate response is hard. People forget that in the building, your bathroom light being out may not be a priority if someone else's toilet won't flush. So maybe the reason you're not getting a response is the fact that your problem isn't that big' When my toilet didn't work, I was asked if I could wait a day since my apt. had two bathrooms. I said sure, and then in a day, as promised, the guy showed up and fixed it.
So if you're looking for a decent place for a good price, this area is safe and the doormen are very cautious about letting people in (as compared to SOME buildings.) Not to mention everything but electric is included, as compared to the surrounding buildings (some of which have been put on meters.)
If you're not a complainer...this place is great. People are friendly, but unfortunately a lot of them just complain about everything.

Cockroaches don't just come around when YOUR dirty. I'm a very clean person. I mop my floors and do a complete all day clean to my apartment everyweek. I don't leave food laying around or anything like that. However, If you have a dirty person who lives next door to you or they don't spray your apartment when they spray everyone else's then you will have a bug problem. I have had A bug problem. But I have only seen one! After that I told the desk and they took care of it right away!

I don't understand how anyone could lie about this place being great! How do you with yourself at night! PEOPLE no matter if you are dirty or clean the mice will crawl through the holes in the walls that the maintence men so conviently left and your plumbing will break or back up at least six times within the course of you living at the PARKWAY House over a year span. LET's face it the location is the only good thing. CONTROLLED HEATING IS NEVER A GOOD THING -- Don't pretend that it is. You should be ashamed of yourself giving false hope to wide eyed apartment hunters -- this is not the place for you. I promise!

For the record, there are good reviews of apartments on this site. As a person looking for an apartment you see what people are complaining about and decide whether you can put up with the issues or not. If 3-5 people think a building is awful, you take it with a grain of salt, if 45 people think the building sucks, there is probably something wrong.
Your passionate reply to the people who have expressed disappointment in their units makes me wonder why you take it so personally. I've now officially taken your praise with a grain of salt.
