Parkway House

From the start, this place was a horrible. When you first move into the building you need to reserve the freight elevator to be able to move your things up to your floor. We were not notified that we needed to do this until a week before we were moving in. Of course, all the time slots on the weekend were booked and we then had to take off from work and move on a weekday. The plumbing in the building is absolute crap. They are constantly turning on and off the water to be able to "fix" things. If you are actually there during a weekday, you have to work around their schedule to be able to wash dishes or take a shower. Workers came in to work on the pipes and would cut huge holes into our walls and cover them up with cardboard when they were done working for the day. They would leave their tools and all the mess behind for us to clean up. This went on for a solid three months. On one of the coldest weekends of the winter, we lost our heat and for the entire weekend, no one did anything about it. We called the security desk to let them know and management never did a thing until Monday. We lost hot water to our shower over a weekend and the same thing happened. Our shower handle broke several times and before they actually fixed the thing, they broke our own personal showerhead that we had to fight to be reimbursed for. A 21-foot section of our ceiling leaked and management did not give a damn. We had to put out all of our pots and pans to collect the water. They told us that the roof had been fixed afterwards, but it leaked two more times. When they went to plaster our ceiling, they put numerous nicks into our bureau. We had to have mold removed twice from the apartment. We had problems with cockroaches and mice. The staff is deplorable. Everything they do is a quick fix that breaks two weeks down the road. And don't get me started with the management. Barbara doesn't give a crap about anything. She'll automatically accuse you of doing something wrong, when all you want is to have a normal living environment (i.e. hot water, working plumbing, heat, a ceiling that won't leak). The fact that rent was $1800 for two bedrooms and we were treated this way is unbelievable. The final week that we were moving out, painters came up to work on the apartment and they stole our hand truck and spackler. Not to mention that they left our deadbolt and door handle unlocked for anyone to come in and take what they wanted. It was never ending the troubles we had with this place. Please, please, whatever you do, do not live here or any Philadelphia Management owned property for that matter! All these negative reviews are for real. We blew them off and that was a huge mistake!!!

I lived there 2008-2009 and it is amazing how every single problem you are talking about are all still issues. I really wish I had read this review first, you were right on.
