I have lived here in a 1 bedroom for 3 years while in college. The apartments are clean and bright and sunny. The staff is pleasant and come in a timely manner if something is wrong (24 hour maintenance). There is free & adequate parking in the back and front of the building. There is also a parking garage for which you have to pay extra. All utilities are included except for electricity. My bill is very reasonable. Usually in the 30 dollar range. The balconies are huge and I often barbecued on mine. My only gripes are that although there is ample public transportation, the bus (route 40) takes forever to get into the city and the R6 train that runs right behind the buiding only runs during the morning and evening rush hour. Thus, if you don't have a car and only need transportation in the day it's great. However, if you do have a car, you are less than 10 minutes from UPenn, Drexel, PCOM, St.Joseph's University, and other City Avenue Shopping and to I-76 and Manayunk. The building is relatively quiet. You can hear cars on the main road (it's Philly after all) and if people are on their balconies you can hear them talking. However, when I'm inside it is very quiet. The appliances in the kitchen are all Whirlpool (fridge, dishwasher, stove) and new. Never had a problem. The sink clogs sometimes but that's what the plunger is for. Or just call maintenance and they'll come check it out. Oh and another thing I have never run out of hot water in the shower. I thought this would be the case when I moved in because there are so many floors but I have never had a problem with this. There are lots of laundry facilities in the basement. Usually the weekends are pretty crowded but weekday nights (open 'til 10:30pm) and week days are great. Also, there are 3 elevators so you don't have to wait for one for too long. Also, people are very friendly just as the other reviewer said and this includes the doormen. A great benefit here is that there is a "package room". The doorman takes the packages and puts a note on your mailbox that there is one for you. In three years I have never had a lost package (and I have ordered tons of books on-line for school). All in all this is a really great place to live as far as apartments go. As a female in the city, I feel relatively safe here and have not heard of any incidents in the building.
