Objection!!! From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 8/31/2007 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007 3 responses   I recently lived at Presidental and moved out last week. I am unsure what building you lived in, for my building (-------) was fine. I will address each of your statements 1 by 1. 1. Fire alarms- They do go off periodically and they do go off sometimes during the early morning hours. I do not disagree with that. Honestly is that the owners fault. Could be some immature people either a)playing with the fire alarms on their floor or someone cooking and smoke got out into the hallway. Yes it could be a little distracting but always better safe than sorry. 2. Maintenance Service- I have never had an issue with any maintenace requests that I have made. They have always addressed all my concerns and resolved any issues I had in a timely fashion. 3. Mice Infestation- I lived there for 2 years and NEVER EVER saw a mouce in my apartment. I am not stating no one has but personally an infestation ---I think not. I know of others who have had an issue with mice, but where do we live...In a City. I have a friend who lives in a Condo in Center City at 15th and Samson. He has also seen mice. It doesn't matter where you live you will see them...Not an infestation that when you walk anywhere you will see them. 4. Noisey Tenates- I lived on the 9th Floor... NEVER had an issue with noise. I could never hear anyone next door or accross the hall unless I/they were in the hallway. It is a highrise for heavens sake. I lived at the Mariott in Center City for 2 months when I relocated, I could also hear tenats as they were talking in their rooms or in the hallway. Again unsure what building you are in.... 5- The radiator heat is strong---You have this one...:) In the winter I do usually have to keep my windows open all winter long, fresh air is good and that way you don't need to buy a humidifier...Sometimes I have to admit I did have to turn my AC on. On the positive- I have heard tenats complain they have NO HEAT and have to go buy space heaters. Would you rather have too much of something than none at all' I didn't mind. 6- Customer Service- In my opinion this could be better but they have a business to conduct. They have all been plesant with me and sympathetic to my needs. I agree this could improve however, we do live up north and I have to say Northern People are pretty blunt and come across as rude...We are just one of 1000's tenates you are correct, with that said and defending them there are only 3 people in the management office...(Picture yourself going to a resturant- there are only 3 wait staff personell..When do you think you will get served. They are obviously under a lot of pressure with just 3 people in there and could be very stressful. Put yourself in thier shoes and think about the annology. 7- Elevators- I cannot argue that elevators are an issue. 1 year..again I do not know what building you are in, where I was they were an issue and will continue to be an issue until upgraded...These buildings are 50 years old. Management does need to look into getting this issue resolved, on thier behalf I do not think any elevator in any building has been down 1 year... maybe 1-3 months, it may seem like a year when you are waiting on something... 8- Parking- Can be a challenge. Management has no control over birds...Yes there are trees, and will probally be trees and birds when we are dead and gone...With that statement basically if anyone feels unsafe to park there are guards that I am more than sure if you ask they will accompany you/them to their doors. I have NEVER felt unsafe at Presidental. 9- Hot water- Yes this is an issue especially in the winter time with the type of heating system they have. Do you pay for water' If something is free do not complain about it....Put a pot on top of the stove boil some water add a little cold and there ---take a bath...6 days out of 1 year lets see that is <1% of the time. 10- Hotwire vs Comcast-- I personally have never heard them push anything on you. I had Hotwire for 2 years worked from home and had 1 issue. I am a virtual employee and needed internet access 24x7. There is a dedicated Hotwire guy on duty everyday 6 days a week, if you have any issues....Hotwire was great and very resonable. 11- Social Scene- I have met a lot of Very Very nice people that I will never forget and will stay in touch with, and actually planning trips with. There really is no activities for as many younger people as we do have, take the initative and speak to management about getting a social for younger people together. 12- Dirty and Smelly- I cannot disagree because I do not know what building you lived in. I have never had an issue with anything smelly or dirty. Have you discussed this with Management, maybe being relocated to another building' Again you cannot blame management for this, tenates have to take some responsibility. There is a cleaning staff 6 days a week that cleans the buildings, not apartments. They do a great job in my opinion. I have visited friends in all buildings and never run accross dirty and smelly..... Maybe the floor you live on' I am trying to understand. Bottom line- I am not denying any of your issues you have had, but how mny issues were managements responsiblities' How could you address these issues to get them resolved' What could you personally do to help your surroundings' Think positive...:) THE SECRET is a book I suggest to you :)
