we've been living in this place for 3 years and it was ok until late last year when bed bugs started coming in from random places. when we called maintenance, they said that they were not responsible for exterminating them and that they only covered certain vermin like cockroaches and mice. when i called the exterminators, willing to pay out of pocket, they refused to come because they were bedbugs and that management would have to call to treat the entire building. i am OCD with cleaning to the point where we don't even wear shoes in the apt to avoid treading stuff through the carpet. but this is getting ridiculous-loss of sleep, constantly using fog/sprays to self-treat the apt. please let me know if anyone else has had this problem. i'm hearing that under a philadelphia landlord law, there is something that says that if more than 3 apts are infested they are REQUIRED to exterminate.

also re: laundry room. if i'm paying 1.25 per washer/dryer then they better work. constantly broken. also, they need an upgrade to a card system or put a change machine in the building. if i'm paying rent here, then they should make a few things that are found commonly in other apartment complexes available. otherwise, don't charge for broken machines. not only wastes money, but more importantly time, b/c you can't get that one back.

yeah, there are bed bugs 1 years ago when I first moved in there. it took 3 months for them to treat the bed bugs, but they did treat it tho. Should talk to the management again.

I'm in Presidential City now and I have bed bugs... not bad at all. I contacted them right away as soon as I spot one. (Maybe I have found a total of 3). I had the exterminator come, but so far they have not mentioned a thing about money. Are they going to charge me? It's not my fault-- they must have come in from somewhere else, because we clean ALL the time and we never have visitors. Do I have any recourse if they slap me with a big fine or the exterminator bill?

Live in the Jefferson building. We had bedbugs in the fall of 08. We were charged $450 and had to throw out a $900 sofa. Thanks Presidential!
