The Claridge is a run-down building with bitchy staff. For the past two summers the air conditoning hasn't worked, so it's been 80 degrees in my apartment *at night*. The manager pretends to know nothing about the problem, but even the maintenance staff say the units are too small for the apartments and nothing can be done.

The plumbing is old and not maintained; it's impossible to keep the toilet clean. Any given trip to the bathroom requires 3-4 flushes. Throwing out garbage is challenging and requires use of the 'garbage stick' to get bags down the tiny chute. (This used to be an office building, and the facilities were never updated for residential living.)

Finally, the staff, especially the doormen, are unprofessional and out-and-out rude; it's not unusual to hear them complaining about tenants or hassling the women.
