Good, not great.

I agree the place is way overpriced. I was only interested a six month lease so they heaped on additional $150 per month. If you add in the strangely inflated $65 a month in utilites and the staggering $215 a month in parking, you're quickly approaching $2K a month for an efficiency. Yikes, not very efficient! I also agree that the lease was absurdly long. 20 pages' Ridiculous.
On balance, it is livable. I've been reasonably pleased with the responsiveness of management and maintenance. The head maintenance guy tried to prevent delivery to your door of the daily newspaper due to "security reasons", but the building manager quickly put the kibosh on that, which I appreciated. Maintenance is same day for your unit although one of the two cheap treadmills in the gym and the tanning booth haven't worked since I moved in three months ago.
I haven't noticed any of the pet problems others speak to -- once in a while I hear a bark but no real issues with noise or smells. Noise level in general is good. Occasionally a late-night jackhammer at the street level or moderate weekend clammor in the hallways. Noise through the walls is close to negligible. Upkeep is fine. Fixtures are moderately cheap. I've never noticed an elevator being out. Water is sometimes slow to get hot, but rarely. Not a bad spot for a few months but for that amount of money, you're crazy not to own something.
