I lived in a 1-bedroom loft with built-in desk in the hallway. Before signing with the Riverloft in 2007, I looked at a dozen different buildings throughout Rittenhouse. Having come from a luxury doorman building in Manhattan previously, I had certain expectations for what I wanted my apartment in Philadelphia to be like.

The one thing that no other apartments in the area can compete on is the gorgeous lofted ceilings which provide tons of natural lift. And unlike many other "loft" buildings in Philly, this place is a "true" loft. By that I mean the bedroom is actually upstairs on a second floor in the apartment. Every other loft building I looked at, the bedroom was just elevated 3 steps higher than the rest of the apartment, so not really a loft.

The walls here are well insulated. Not once did I have a problem with hearing anything my neighbors apartment.

I read some of the other reviews that complained about rodents and roaches. I can honestly say that in my two years here, not once did I have any problems with either. Maybe it says more about the living habits of the people who left the reviews, but my apartment never had mice/rats/roaches or any other type of infestation.

I found management and maintenance to be helpful and responsive.

The only thing I would caution is that street noise can be loud if you open your windows, but not a problem when they are closed. This is likely a function of the fact that I lived on third floor and faced Walnut Street, so try for a higher floor or one not on directly facing Walnut.

Riverloft is great building. I was about to renew my lease for a third year until some last minute changes had me moving to California.
