Fantastic Experience

I lived in a Riverloft studio apartment for the 2 years I was attending Wharton; I moved out end of May 2009.

This was easily my most pleasant experience with an apartment rental. The building was always clean, quiet and simply a relaxing, upscale place to reside.

Where the building really shines, however, is in the management and support staff. The site is extremely well-run: any time that something needed to be fixed (which was rare), someone would be by to solve the problem within the hour. The staff are extremely courteous, making the building feel like a small community. The management is extremely responsive - if a tenant has an issue, ------------------are always flexible and fair.

The pricing is a bit high compared to similar units in the city, but the well-run facility clearly communicates that the small premium you pay to live there is money well-spent. Among Wharton MBA students, this apartment building is one of the most desireable places to live in the city and it is easy to see why.

Thank you ------------------------------------------------------and everyone else for a fun two years!

This really sounds like management propaganda. Starting in June 2009, there has been a new glowing review about this place every 1-2 weeks. There were only 5 reviews in all of 2008. Whoever is writing these reviews is full of it. It is possible that things may have improved since I left last year (don't know for a fact), I find it hard to believe this recent flux of glowingly positive reviews is anything other than a fabrication by ----- (the property manager, unless she has been fired for being a -----). The last time I posted, I criticized these recent reviews for being staged because they were all anonymous and half of them indicated that the reviewer was in the building for three years. Well, now all of a sudden the reviewer is no longer anonymous (of course, I can sign up for 32 different usernames as well) and seems to have been in the building for two years. Whoever is creating this propoganda isn't stupid - and that is the point. This place needs to be smart enough to sell overpriced apartments to a bunch of smart Penn students from out of town. Cut the BS and would some people who were actually tenants please write in.

I was considering this property up until a recent visit and started reading these reviews. It does seem that the most recent "glowing" ones are following a template and/or are written by the same person. I find it quite interesting that these positive reviews all seem to have the same type of subject/verb agreement error. Very curious.

Looks can be deceiving. The Riverloft is like having goggle eyes when you are drunk. LIES, LIES LIES. I moved out in 2005 but then visited a friend who remained a few months ago. the same problems are still there. Rodents. Want proof, all you have to do is walk down the rear staircase on the 23rd Street Side (not freight elevator side) back stairwell and what you will see is that there are actually floors in between that were simply boarded up when they converted from a suit factory years ago. Those floors are infested (between 2nd and 3rd Floor) etc. If you have a loft apartment at night you can hear the rodents scurrying. This building is a pit and management by AIMCO is a joke. Get out while you can. They will lie to you and never deliver on promises.

Good grief - I don't know what some person on aptratings has against the Riverloft, but just go pay a visit yourself, speak with some of the residents if you like. I would go back in a heartbeat if I was living in Philadelphia. Best of luck in your apartment search.
