I moved out of Sherwood in the summer of 2005 and it was the best thing I could've have done. I lived there for 3 years and had one good year (the 1st one) by the end of the three years but 6 & 8 year old girls had seen fights, heard foul language used constantly by younger tenants, dodged spit from the balconies and barely avoided flaming cardboard falling on their heads while playing on the steps. I guess college kids weren't given the memo on not playing with fire. No action is ever taken against the unruley tenants. Getting that monthly rent payment is more important to this apartment community than the class of the tenants who live there. I don't think they even have a screening process anymore. Hanover County Sherrif's Dept. frequents this complex daily. It has become the projects of Mechanicsville. If you have children, especially, don't move here!!!!
