If you have roaches.... then you got it easy!

Where do I start' Well me and my fiance moved in the beginning of 2007. Although I didn't see the apartment before we moved in,(I was just eager to get out of my parent's house), I was presently surprised. I have a corner 1 bedroom grand, and it was bigger than I expected. Anyway, I have to say that this place wasn't too bad, at first. I've read everyone's postings and I have to say I've only seen about 4 roaches since we moved in. But.... I have a HUGE squirrel problem. After many many many times talking to maintenance about them in our air ducts, walls, ceiling, they find it impossible to get them out. I mean, don't get me wrong, they tried to set out traps and put up chicken wire, but it doesn't seem to deter them. I can't sleep because i hear scurrying in the walls and one even got trapped between my kitchen and living room wall. I heard it crying for about a week and then it finally died. Talk about gross. Then i guess after it died, the flesh fies came and ate the remnants. They were all over my apartment and i had to vaccum them up to get them out! But now, its a year later, and i have another one die between my linen closet and bathroom wall, and guess what folks, I can smell the stench of its rotting carcass. Once again, maintenance could care less. The AC kept breaking last year and we had a huge electric bill. I had a bad ant problem in my bedroom wall last year but I spray Raid once a month and they have yet to come back. Thank God. I think my neighbors are some kind of juvenile delinquents or belong to some type of a housing program, they're weird but seem harmless. Then some underage kids moved in my section and they drink and smoke and skateboard till all hours of the night. And the older guy who lives across from them buys beer for them and lets them party at his place. Its crazy. They graffiti on everything, knock down signs, stay up late and be loud about it and litter everywhere. What else.... hmmm... 2 suicide attempts (one tonight) and one success. In a year, 3 is way too many for one section of apartments. There was a bad fire recently and the fire trucks responded extremely quick. Thats one good thing. The police are quick about arriving, but they are only stationed up the street. But the apartment never sent out a notice to the tenants or anything. I've encountered a crackhead (literally) all coked up one morning looking into my car, but i haven't seen him in about a year. There's a rule about dog breeds, but i don't think the apartment seems to care to much because i've had my dog almost the entire time I've been here and no one has said anything. Maintenance even played with him when they came to fix a leaky pipe that ruined my neighbor's place. The gym is a poor excuse for a gym. They said "24 hour gym" when we moved in; it only became 24 hours about 3 months ago. There are like 4 machines in there. But, beggars cant be choosy. As for the anemities fee, its bulls**t. I don't use their pool, gym or office. Can i get my $150 back' As for paying for gas and water and stuff... they lowered my rent and tacked on this fee for utilities. All in all, I'm only paying $10 more than I was. I know other apartments that raise their rates $50 or more each year. Maintenance isn't too bad, depending on what the problem is. The new office manager, Kristin I think, she seems very nice and helpful. The parking sucks if you come home after 6pm, but i scouted that out before we moved in and made sure i had additional parking in the rear that wasn't too far of a walk. My washer was broke when we moved in, but I called and they installed a brand new one a couple days after. The walls are like paper. I don't really have a problem with too much noise. I mean you can hear people's music occasionally, but I think we're all pretty respectful after a certain time at night. But if you plan to hang anything, DON'T. The nails will either go all the way through, or won't hold up. The walls are too weak. The place isn't that bad if you can over look a lot of little things. But after a while they can just drive you crazy. When my lease is up again in about 7 months, I'll be out of here. But it was good while it lasted I guess. I can't think of anything else, but trust me, if I do' You'll be sure to hear from me. Hope to see you neighbors around!

I saw posts here re bugs or roaches, and I have never seen a single one. Not perfect here, but I have never seen any or heard of anyone w/ a problem.
