Nice big apartments with great views (in the back of the building at least). Amazing closet space! Updated kitchens, new windows, and new ac units. One MAJOR complaint is that they don't turn the air conditioning on soon enough, so if you live above the 20th floor, you will literally roast! Unless you can get someone to unblock the security feature on the window, anyway. Weird retro bathrooms though in odd colors like turquoise, pink, or hideous yellow (including the walls, paint, toilets, sinks, etc!).

The manager is a pompous little Napoleon of a guy - John Ditko. He's on some kind of power trip and I have personally seen him be beyond rude to several residents on different occasions. You won't have to deal directly with him if you are lucky.

The security staff is adequate. They pay them terribly, so do you really expect them to be bright and cheery' They're not there to be your friends - they're there to help keep you and the buiding safe. No one is rude or anything, just don't expect too much.

I have never had a roach in my apt, but I live on the 27th floor. The college kids get put on the lowest floors and from what I understand, that's where most of the creepy crawlies are.

Maintenance is ok, but you may have to call or submit reports a couple times. Just be pleasant and ask for Marie in the mgmt office. She's nice and will help get your request dealt with as quickly as possible.

There are fire engines going by all the time, as well as buses and 18-wheelers since JFK and Arch Streets are major thoroughfares. It's loud at times, but where in the city isn't it loud'

Just manage your expectations and you'll do fine here.

Speaking of the manager...everytime I call the management office, he's either out on vacation or out sick. It has been impossible to get a hold of him. That's what you get for management here.

HA HA! I loved the description of John Ditko as a pompous Napolean like figure. But c'mon, is he SMART enough to be compared to Napolean? I think not. LOL.
