We lived at the Sterling for just over a year and I am really surprised to read some of the reviews. I am not sure if there is any such thing as a perfect apartment, perfect house, perfect whatever - but you get what you pay for. Keeping that in perspective, I have to say that I loved living at the Sterling and had it not been for me moving out of Philadelphia, I would have coninued to stay there. But to summarize my experience, I am listing the things that made me like the sterling and things that they could certainly improve.

Pro's:
1. The management team at Sterling has been superb. We had a couple of times when we needed their help with timing on our lease and they accomodated us. The management team is really customer centric.
2. The apartments are huge - excellent closet space in each apartment. Probably the most economical place to stay for its location.
3. Washer/ Dryer in each unit. New appliances and new kitchen's.
4. The common areas are clean, well maintained and well lit.
5. Location, Location, Location - can't say more about it. Perfect location for Philadelphia. 3 blocks from Rittenhouse, Ben Franklin Parkway, City Hall and a quick hop on the highway. I worked outside the city and if you are going to commute outside the city - this is a perfect location.
6. Good maintaince staff - prompt (though they could get some training on learning to be polite).
7. Nice neighbours overall. Most people we knew were doctors/ graduate students in the area or older folks.

Con's
1. It noisy (I guess this is not so much a complaint sine it is center city). I beleive Sterling is putting new windows which will help.
2. The gym needs new equipment.
3. Carpets in most apartments need to be replaced.
4. Rents increase does not seem justified.

Overall - highly recommend. Hope this helps to some of you who are trying to understand. uWDgQKY3Vkv8FKIsB8Ax
