I lived in a 2 bedroom apt at "Club Summit" for about a year, and moved out in 2004. I lived in one of the units all the way in the back near the woods. It was sold to me as a "fun place for young professionals,"- that is a load of crap- and is better suited for the "we just turned 21/college frat party" crowd. Things that were good about the place is that we had a pretty nice, spacious, clean apartment for relatively cheap rent, compared to other areas in Philly. Things that sucked are- filthy shared laundry facilities that are never available; frequent problems with the shower backing up/going completely cold without warning. The maintenance staff was slow to fix this problem, and the only way it was fixed is when I threatened to call the local news station. Parking sucks, anytime after 7 pm trying to find a spot- good luck, and you WILL get ticketed for parking 'illegally', even though they tell you you're guaranteed a spot. The Clubhouse is a glorified frat party and is frequented by people who can't seem to get a handle on the fact that college is over. Drunk people returning to their apartments from the Clubhouse can be loud & obnoxious, but it's not as much a problem for those who don't live close to the Clubhouse- I would steer clear of living down there. And probably the biggest gripe I have is- DO NOT GET THEIR PHONE OR INTERNET SERVICE THROUGH HOTWIRE COMMUNICATIONS- you are better to use your cell phone and find another internet provider. The phone bill WILL arrive screwed up every single month, and despite 75 phone calls to the rude, trashy, uneducated staff, you will NOT get it resolved and it WILL ruin your credit. Just use your cell phone. Oh, and also it is really hard to get cab companies to come out there if you're trying to get a taxi downtown to go out at night- almost all cab services I ever tried won't come out to Summit because it is in the middle of nowhere. Basically, with Summit, you get what you pay for. If you're young, broke, and looking to live on your own for the first time, this place could be okay for you. If you're a bit older, actually have a career, bills to pay, and no desire to participate in beer pong tournaments, you might want to look elsewhere. P.S.} I also think that the overwhelmingly enthusiastic 4-5 star ratings on here boasting about how great the place is are posted periodically by the rental staff so that the place doesn't seem like a total slum.
