My husband and I both moved into the Carlyle as graduate students. Given our prior experienes in on-campus housing, we were ready to be happy with any amount of improvement. Needless to say, we're been very happy with our time in the Carlyle. The only reason we're leaving is that we're moving away from Philadelphia altogether.

The doormen are polite and friendly. We've found them responsive to any questions or concerns. The maintenance staff is also friendly and very helpful. The building is older, which is part of its charm--so occasional maintenance needs are not too surprising. We've never had anything that was too much of a problem, and they've been fixed promptly. It's great having the gym in the basement. The storage lockers are easily accessible and safe. Our biggest complaint is that the public washers/dryers are small and expensive--but some apartments have in-unit washers/dryers anyway.
