Lived in one of their property for 3 years (Elizabeth court on Baltimore & 40th). Building is Old as most of the buildings in University city are. The rooms were fairly large, kitchen is also spacious enough, storage space is also more than enough with 2 big walk in closets. Management do respond when called for routine maintenance. However rodent and roaches infestation is a problem in some apartments. Each floor has only 4 apartments in 4 corners, so each apartment is a corner apartment with 2 sides open. It keeps ventilation good and there is not much disturbance from neighboring apartments also. Windows are huge so apartment are well lit in day. Rent is a bit on higher side. Location is excellent, right in front of 40th street trolley portal. Floors are wooden, it is OK if you are allergic to dust like me and want to avoid carpeted apartment. But could be a hassle sometimes if there is a party going on in apartment above you. They do have their own cable and internet service provider which works OK. Hot water was a issue 1-2 times every year in winter, but was fixed within hours of calling them. Heat was OK. Parking is big problem if you have a car.
I believe UCH manages several buildings in University city area. Except for a couple of them that are not well maintained (one on chester and 42nd is the worst), others are OK. Atleast the one that I lived (4017 Baltimore Avenue) was one of the better ones. Over all not great but definitely above average because of large rooms, storage space, and great location.
