DO NOT LIVE HERE

Compared to what rent ACTUALLY is in this area- and for what little space, service, and quality you get it's a TOTAL RIP OFF. For what we're paying it should at least be professionally run, well-maintained, and we should have more freedom with guests.
I can barely put my arms out at my sides without hitting the bed or mirror in my apartment. The furniture is cheap and is either breaking or looks like it will. The shower/tub is VERY cheap and gets moldy easily because it was poorly installed.
The courtyard nice but if you live in the back building it is so obnoxious...if it's pooring rain...adon't get too excited when you get to the dry lobby...you'll have to go back out in the rain to get to your building... It doesn't take a genius to realize a covered walkway would have been nice...
Also, if I'm paying this much, I should be allowed to have as many guests as I want- whoever I want, whenever I want. I'm glad we have to come down to let our guests in, because I don't want just anyone walking in, but having to give security their id's, and limiting our number of guests is like living in a dorm, and I'm sorry but if I'm old enough to pay my own rent (esp. this much), I'm old enough to decide who comes into MY apartment.
the LAUNDRY system is SO annoying. I'm on the sixth floor in the back building and if I just want to do a quick load, instead of putting quarters right there in the washers/dryers (that are "conveniently" down the hall) I have to go to the lobby, put at least $5 in this machine that puts a balance on my laundry card then go back to the laundry machines and do a couple dollars worth of laundry that I just spent $5 on. The machine is far away, doesn't take ones, and is basically just a pain in the a$$. As if doing laundry weren't annoying enough...
They're so lazy- They no longer send notices when you get a package or gas bill. You have to go to THEM for things they should be sending us. IS IT REALLY THAT HARD TO SLIP IT IN OUR MAILBOX!!!''' Also, I've seen staff reading magazines that have come in the mail for other residents, I know plenty of people who've had lost/stolen mail problems and I suspect the reason I never got one of my packages is the fault of UV, although there's no way of proving it- BECAUSE THEY DON"T SEND US SLIPS ANYMORE- they just POST THEM PUBLICALLY so anyone who walks by knows you have a package, and they rarely ask for id to pick up a pkg because they're so lazy.
This is the worst of all- A bad experience with a former manager... I was in the HOSPITAL for a ruptured stomach lining and owed money for a bill that I didn't pay because I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL and obviously never got it. Well he called me on my cell phone(meanwhile I'm in a hospital bed) and demanded I pay the bill THAT DAY or I'd be evicted. His excuse was that he'd been sending notices under the door- well duh I wasn't there, and I could even prove it when he checked my key log! I was literally in tears asking him to give me at least a day or two and he said there was nothing he could do (anyone with an ounce of humanity would be able to see that if there are mitigating circumstances a reasonable extension should be given). He's not there anymore- but these are the kind of people they hire (for the most part)- and according to him he was just doing his job/following orders- if that's true than the people that run this place have very poor character.
They still can be SO unprofessional and cheap, too. I lost my keycard and went to them to purchase a new one- and when i went to go pick it up- they just gave me my OLD KEY CARD (I knew it was mine b/c I had put my name on it) that someone turned in. So naturally I asked for my money back, but they still insisted they had to charge me for it- even though it was already mine!!
Also, if you get locked out of your OWN apartment- they charge your balance $25 to let you in!! Isn't that what the "RAs" are PAID and GET FREE RENT to do!''' That is part of their JOB! They are on duty pretty much just for that purpose.
People are always breaking stuff in the common areas because everyone hates it here. There's never computer paper/ink in the computer lab, the mouses are always stolen from the computers, the internet is extremely slow sometimes. If you need mainentance- it seems like there's ONE guy for the whole building and he's really nice and good at his job, but it takes him forever to get anything done because he has to take care of EVERYTHING.
The security guards are extremely rude, and aren't doing their job half the time. I've even seen the guards bring their little kids to work- excuse me but aren't you supposed to be guarding my SAFETY not watching your badly behaving kids!' The "tanning" beds don't give you any tan whatsoever and the "security guards" always forget to turn them on, after you JUST asked them to.
Yes- parking is available but it will cost you just about an arm and a leg per month while street parking is actually not that bad so I don't understand why they charge so much- it's not like it's costing them any money- there's no parking attendant/guard and the gates are computer operated.
The only reason people live here is because they pretty much have no other choice. Since temple doesn't offer campus housing to anyone but freshman, if students want a remotely safe place to live they pretty much have to live here. So they jack up the price as high as they want, don't do a thing service-wise and get away with it because they have little to no competition when it comes to housing near temple.
MY ADVICE- use the extra money you'd spend on rent here, get a car or take septa, and commute to class. I'd rather live out in the ghetto- at least then I'd be getting my money's worth.
