I lived at the Versaille for a year an it was very pleasant.

The manager judy was very fair and professional, the service team and doorman were reasonably attentive and freindly. Most things were fixed very quickly. I only moved because I needed to accomodate a life change which needed a lower budget. The apartments are large and old so they have air conditioning units. If i were to move back i would try to get an apartment not over looking the inside as people like to chat on cell phones or party right outside the bedroom windows on the fire escape and really have no consideration for those trying to sleep. that was my main complaint. Also I would not over look the fire escape also because the door to the fire escape has a window on it and not securly locked. It took quite a while for me to relax at night and I would not choose that again. I also would insist on new air conditioning units. one was replaced because it was impossible to turn on - the others were not - had I spoken to Judy directly she said she would have replaced them but I did not want to create waves at the time. They were not effective in the heat and too loud to sleep with. Also I would insist on a washer dryer in the unit. They do have them in some units. The wash room in the basement is not kept up as well as it could be and the machines themselves are not cleaned in the inside as frequently as they should be. Also you have to walk through the unfinished basement where the building does its work. I got metal fragments and sawdust on my clothes and it was tracked all the way to the apartment on a regular basis.

This review might sound negative but I really would move back - I just would have some things differently. Knowledge is a good thing. With a little kindness and persistance they are really willing to do whatever it takes to make you happy.

Each unit is set up differently and you should look at several to see what suits you best.

They will also paint the apartment any color you want - you provide the paint and pay a minimal charge for the work - the painters do a great job!!!

The staff will help you with any task, just pay them a little extra for their time and it will go a long way.

The location can't be beat if you do not drive, If you have a car its best to get a parking space somewhere.

So go ahead - and it takes up to two dogs in an apartment. A real plus.

If you are from Manhattan and are familiar with the old upper west side buildings this is comparable. It is an old building, old elevator, and the staff works hard to keep the building running. very hard.

If it were not for circimstances in my life I would still be there. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn

I understand soooooo totally! ;-D Ok, check this out. 2 days ago, my W/D and garbage disposal started to flood. So, I tell the concierge. Concierge immediately puts me in touch with the Super, Carl. Super (Carl) asks me, "How bad is it?" The Super comes out at 9 AM. Oh, but wait. The Super fixes my Cup-which-runneth-over, then washes the clothes in my washer (to test the drain); then he washes the towels I had placed to absorb the damage AND THEN, what's more, he puts the wash from the night B4 IN TO the dry...BUT THEN PROCEEDS to NOT ONLY put the washed items into the dryer. CARL's staff then continues to put the wet towels N 2 my washer, from which they had ALREADY removed my laundry to place it. So, long story short, I came home tonight to a smaller amount of obligations than I anticipated. The Versailles is TOTALLY worth the minor premium. They EVEN warned me today of an overdue electric bill...city comfort and convenient, intelligent living. THAT is the key, here! M
