I love reading these reviews. People seriously complain and remark about the most ridiculous things. The building is beautiful. There s an "old" section and a "new" section. I live in the older section - and have the original warehouse wood floors throughout the apartment. My ceilings are very high, high windows, white walls.. new kitchen. For the price - it s a great find. I can't believe people are complaining about the view.. You live in a city!! Of course there isn t a great view.. my window looks out on another building.. but it doesn t bother me. If I wanted a nice view.. id go live in the country. I looked at a few available apartments in the building. They were the best I've seen in Philly, for the price range I wanted ($1200-$1300). Most of them are a nice size, and have grayish carpeting. And the windows can open. (Some of the apartments I looked at didn t have that!) There are 2 elevators - and a huge freight elevator, which helps moving in. They have carts available to help you bring in a lot of groceries or to move stuff. There s laundry on each floor (3 washers/3 driers) So if your floor is full.. you can use another floor. (Kinda pricey.. $1.75 per load) They also can supply a washer/dryer unit for your apartment(you pay for it, its yours to keep.. they just help you get a deal through their company). I think they said around $500.
As for the noise level.. It s a big apartment building. I only hear people walking around upstairs. But nothing I can't ignore or deal with. Outside my window must be some sort of loading dock for the building next door.. because I'll hear the truck in the morning. but it s not bad.
The Warehouse management is.. ehh. They could be a lot friendlier. They seem like its such an inconvenience when you are asking something.
There s a 24hr doorman.. They are great. Very helpful and courteous.
The building itself is very clean. Yes, it s got the basic apartment looking hallways. But the paintings are nice. Each floor has a lounge. One of the lounges has pool tables, although I don't think anyone uses them. They are decorating it nice for the holidays with flowers, etc.
The gym is nice -- it s a free gym that s open 24 hours!
They have a big parking lot right in front. Very convenient. And lots of security cameras ($165). And there s a covered parking garage directly across the street ($180) that has 24hr security, etc.
The area.. is convienent. A few blocks from the Reading Terminal Market. Steps from China Town. 5 blocks from Broad Street (Macys, City Hall, shopping, etc.) A few blocks from the Liberty Bell, Constitution Center. Steps from Kmart, Walgreens, the Gallery mall, Greyhound bus station, etc.
My one complaint is that they don't allow dogs :(
I def recommend it.
