I initially loved the look of the apartment. Great facilities, great rooms size. then I lived here and couldn't sleep through one goddam night without hearing the crashing of garbage truck at 4am, cars honking at 2am, and sirens from both fire trucks and police cars. It is so loud, it feels as though they are in your bedroom. I had to move my bed into my livingroom just so I could sleep.
Heat is erratic. They turn in off in April so it was freezing for two months. water pressure is good but if someone else is taking a shower, watch out for the temperature. Kitchen appliances are nice but storage is small.
Maintainance is OK.
Don't stay here if you like to sleep through the night....

Move out of the city dip ----. Better yet just get off my block. The building is charming, maintenace are constantly busting their humps, and the heat is steam heat, that means the city shuts it off mid April. This is how it goes in an old building in Center City. The maintenance and manager stick their necks out for the tenants. You talk about the shower pressure, the shower pressure can shoot you out of the bath, its glorious.

I agree with coldasice. But, the level of noise also depends on which floor you are on and what direction you are facing in this building. On teh twentieth floor you'd forget you were in the city... except that your view is incredible.

Wake up and smell the coffee. Your at 15th and Spruce, a very bustling area of the city. Fire, police, ambulances and general traffic are a way of life in the city no matter where you live. You sound like an individual that should return to the pine barrens if you want a quiet environment.
